TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Wellbeing Walks and Wellbeing Programs & Walks are provided by Wellbeing Ways Pty Ltd (ACN: 645 028 342), trading as and referred to as Wellbeing Pathways. The Directors of Wellbeing Pathways are Linda Rowley and Sarah Backhouse.

 

WELLBEING WALKS

The in-person Wellbeing Walks are evidence-based in positive psychology and wellbeing science and designed by Wellbeing Pathways’ Directors who both hold a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology from The University of Melbourne.A range of Topic Specific Walks (e.g., Meaning in Life, Savouring, Gratitude) are available.

  • The walk durations are 3 to 4 hours.

  • The dates of the walks are clearly identified at the time of booking.

  • The locations of the walks are clearly identified at the time of booking.

 

WELLBEING PROGRAMS & WALKS

The online Wellbeing Programs are the major component of our offering. These programs are evidence-based in positive psychology and wellbeing science and designed by Wellbeing Pathways’ Directors who both hold a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology from The University of Melbourne. A range of Topic-Specific Programs (e.g., Replenishing your Mind; Rebooting your Future; HERO Walks) are available.

  • The Wellbeing Programs are delivered via online self-paced resources and webinars.

  • Webinar dates are clearly identified at the time of booking.

  • Access to the Wellbeing Programs commences 2 weeks before the first advertised Webinar date.

The Walks offer a capstone experience to the Wellbeing Programs, informed by the vast evidence on the physical, mental and psychological benefits of walking. The Walks are group experiences that combine walking on Grade 1, 2 or 3 walking tracks and outdoor workshops, facilitated by the Directors.

  • Walk grades are clearly identified at the time of booking.

  • Walk dates are clearly identified at the time of booking.

 

ACCEPTANCE

Your booking becomes valid after Wellbeing Pathways has received your payment. You are therefore accepting upon making your deposit/payment, that you have read the terms of booking and all booking conditions and acknowledge that you adhere to all advice given. The person making a group booking is presumed to have such authority from other members of the group. A group booking is a booking made for more than one person, and all payments must be made by one person representing the group (unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed by Wellbeing Pathways).

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Having clarity around cancellations related to our Wellbeing Programs & Walks provides peace of mind for everyone. Sometimes plans need to change. Sometimes events outside our control take place. 2020/21 has demonstrated our need for agility in abundance.

 

WELLBEING WALKS

Your cancellation

  1. You may cancel your 3 or 4-hour Wellbeing Walk up to 1 week prior to the advertised date and receive a full refund.

  2. After this time, you forfeit your payment.

Our cancellation

  1. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel any Wellbeing Walks if fewer than 3 people book for a particular date and time. In such a case, we will offer you a full refund.

  2. We reserve the right to cancel Walks prior to departure due to natural disasters, political instability, terrorism, disease outbreak, extreme weather or any other event outside our control that would make it dangerous or not viable for the Walk to begin or continue (Force Majeure). In such a case, we will offer you a full refund.

 

WELLBEING PROGRAMS & WALKS

Your cancellation

  1. If you cancel prior to commencing access to the online Wellbeing Programs component, that is 2 weeks before the first advertised Webinar date, we will happily refund any monies you have paid.

  2. If you cancel after commencing access to the online Wellbeing Programs, and before the Walk, we will refund 20% of your fee.

  3. If you access the online Wellbeing program and need to change the date of your Walk, you may transfer to a future Topic Specific Program within 6 months. In this instance, no monies will be refunded. If we do not re-offer the Topic Specific Program within the 6-month period, we will refund 20% of your fee.

Our cancellation

  1. If access to your choice of online Wellbeing Programs has commenced, and an external event (e.g., a snap lockdown) forces cancellation of the Walk, we will refund 20% of your fee.  In addition, we will provide you with Topic Specific Programs activities for you to explore in a walking location and with people of your choice.

  2. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel any Wellbeing Programs & Walks if fewer than 3 people book for a particular Topic Specific Program. In such a case, we will postpone the Topic Specific Program Walk to a later date.  The topic specific online program and webinars will still be available.  If that later date is not suitable to you, we will happily refund 20% of the program fee.

  3. We reserve the right to cancel Walks prior to departure due to natural disasters, political instability, terrorism, disease outbreak, extreme weather or any other event outside our control that would make it dangerous or not viable for the Walk to begin or continue (Force Majeure). In such a case, we will do our best to postpone the Walk or provide you with an alternative itinerary as outlined in point 4.

 

SUBCONTRACTORS

You acknowledge that component services such as lunches, transport or accommodation provided during our single or multi-day walks, are supplied by subcontractors to Wellbeing Pathways who hold their own insurances.

 

CURRENCY, DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS

All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD$).

  • Wellbeing Walks require payment in full at the time of booking.

  • Wellbeing Programs & Walks require payment in full at the time of booking.

  • Multi-Day Wellbeing Walks require a 30% deposit at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. All payments must be made by one person representing the group (unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed by Wellbeing Pathways).

 

TRAVEL & MEDICAL INSURANCE - Walks

Wellbeing Pathways strongly advise taking out travel insurance for medical expenses, (especially overseas visitors) for unforeseen losses, damage or injury, cancellation due to adverse weather conditions (including fire and flooding), cancellation fees and loss of luggage.

Please note that in the event of a bush fire (or flood), or closure of walking destinations due to potential fire/flood danger, you must adhere to all instructions issued by relevant authorities & Wellbeing Pathways for your safety. Wellbeing Pathways accept no responsibility for any sections of the walk missed from the itinerary due to closure by relevant authorities. For residents of Australia, in the case of extreme emergency please ensure that your ambulance registration is up to date, before you leave home, as this cost is payable by yourselves.

In the event of a flood or fire whilst you are walking, or threat of a fire, some walking destinations may close indefinitely. In such a case, we will do our best to postpone the trip or provide you with an alternative itinerary. (We recommend travel and cancellation insurance).

You (and your group) acknowledge that if required, Wellbeing Pathways may arrange medical or hospital treatment (including ambulance transportation) for you (and for all members of your group). By confirming your booking, you (and your group) authorise such action being taken, and you agree to meet all costs associated with such action.

 

WELLBEING PATHWAYS ITINERARIES & FITNESS

Wellbeing Pathways’ Walks are for people in good physical health. It is your responsibility to walk or partake in any activity, within your ability. The Grades of our walks are indicated in the walk information.

We reserve the right to refuse to accept a booking based on any information revealed to us. If you are unsure about your or your group’s suitability for your preferred walk or activity, please ask.

If you cannot finish the walking leg/distance as listed for your Walk, you must be able to walk to the nearest access point where there is car access for Wellbeing Pathways to come and collect you. Waiting times will most certainly occur as Wellbeing Pathways cannot predict in advance and plan for such an occurrence.

 

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

On payment of your trip, you and your group are accepting that Wellbeing Pathways are not responsible for any injury incurred during your Wellbeing Walk or in any accommodation, transportation provided / recommended. You acknowledge that a Wellbeing Pathways itinerary activity may have some greater risks than normal, such as changeability of local conditions including weather, physical exertion required, potential extremes of hot or cold or wet weather, transport delays and personal injury or illness.

You (and your group) acknowledge that your choice of this itinerary/activity is partly because of its greater risks than normally occurring at home or work, and your subsequent satisfaction to be gained from your effort expended.

You (and your group) agree to assume all the risks associated with your chosen itinerary /activity, whether those risks have been specified or not. Therefore, please carefully read the safety details related to your chosen itinerary, and adhere to any rules and recommendations Wellbeing Pathways, accommodation hosts, drivers and food suppliers have in place for your safety.

 

SMOKING

Smoking is not permitted at any time in any transports offered as part of your chosen itinerary. Smoking is not permitted inside any accommodation offered as part of Multi-Day Wellbeing Walks.

 

COMPLAINTS

If you have a difficulty or complaint during your Wellbeing Program and/or Walk please immediately bring it to the notice of your Wellbeing Pathways staff member, or accommodation host. He/she should be able to provide a remedy on the spot so you can continue to enjoy your day/holiday.
